These terms apply to the CoreCohort software and to purchases made through this website.
What you are buying
A licence to use CoreCohort Pro (or Team) features for the paid period, per person. One licence may be active on up to 3 Macs at the same time (Team: 3 Macs per seat). You can move it between Macs by deactivating one.
The free features never expire and need no licence.
When the licence ends
Yearly licences (Pro yearly and Team) are perpetual licences with 12 months of updates per paid year. When the paid period ends and is not renewed, you keep a perpetual licence for the last version of CoreCohort released on or before the day the paid period ended: it keeps its Pro features for as long as you like, on the permitted number of Macs, and can still be activated after a reinstall or on a new Mac. It receives no updates of any kind after that day, neither features nor fixes. Versions released later run with the free features until the licence is renewed.
Monthly licences do not include a perpetual licence, however long they ran: when a monthly licence ends, Pro features switch off in every version. Changing a monthly licence to a yearly one earns the perpetual licence from that payment on.
The Team shared library is a hosted service and runs only while the Team licence is paid. A licence that was refunded or charged back is revoked entirely and keeps nothing. We do not delete or lock anything you created.
Renewal and cancellation
Yearly and monthly licences renew automatically at the then-current regular price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the manage page linked in your email; the licence then stays valid until the end of the period you already paid for. We email you a receipt for every renewal and a notice if a renewal payment fails. Nothing here overrides your statutory right to cancel a subscription (§ 327 BGB and following).
Team plan
The buyer of a Team licence is responsible for the people they give the key to and for what the team shares through the library. Shared items carry the licence email of the last editor and are visible to everyone with that key. Do not put secrets in shared commands.
Fair use
Do not share a licence key beyond your own Macs, resell it, or try to bypass the licence check. We may revoke a licence that is clearly being shared, after trying to contact you. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.
Warranty and liability
CoreCohort is provided as is. We work hard to keep it reliable, and it makes backups before editing your shell configuration, but we cannot promise it is free of bugs. We are liable without limit for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual duties and only up to the damage typical for this kind of contract. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under EU or German law.
Payments
Payments are processed by Mollie B.V. Prices are shown including VAT for consumers in the EU; businesses with a valid EU VAT id and buyers outside the EU pay the net price. You receive an invoice by email.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by German law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Consumers in the EU keep the protection of the mandatory rules of their own country. The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
